Never thought to have a very good dinner like i did for the Pycon3 PyFiorentina event.
At the same table: Laura Craighton, Jacob Hallen, Lorenzo Mancini, Daniele Varrazzo, Guido Van Rossum and me. We've enjoyed the fiorentina at the same restaurant as the past years. The dinner had the meeting as the main topic. We've been talking about almost everything. From wines to functional programming, from living in Rome or Florence to Python programming to management systems, mailing lists, and...if i would write all the topics covered, this wouldn't be a blog post but an entire article ;-)
All of us were just enjoying the company, the good food and the good conversation that we had for all the time. I think we breath the common atmosphere that is around Python and its community, made of people, that's why i love it and really appreciate it. This is, IMHO, the most relevant difference compared to other communities orbiting around a programming language.
For me, meant beeing in a place and mood, which i'd like to call it 'home'. I was not expecting all this, and it just came. Python is the difference. Thank you all guys that shared this great time with me. |
